Reed Sigmund To Serve As Artistic Director For The Zephyr Theatre

We are thrilled to announce that Reed Sigmund has taken on the Role of Zephyr Theatre Artistic Director!

As Artistic Director, Reed provides creative leadership for the theater and ensures all artistic programming reflects the organization’s mission, engages the community, and upholds our high professional standards. His role is to ensure an exceptional theatre experience for our patrons, audience members, and students. 

Executive Director Jim Weckwerth is excited for this great opportunity for the Zephyr Theatre: “Reed has a clear vision that aligns beautifully with the Zephyr’s vision to bring together students, audience members, and performers to create quality educational and live performance experiences that strengthen our community.” 

Reed Sigmund is perhaps best known for his stand-out performances at the Minnesota Children’s Theatre Company, in How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Shrek The Musical, The Wizard of Oz, and Peter Pan to name just a few. Last year, Reed made his directorial debut with a retelling of Robin Hood through The Zephyr Theatre.  In addition to his Artistic Director responsibilities, Reed will continue to serve as Education Director at The Zephyr Theatre, a role he’s held since 2021.

Reed shared his thoughts on this new opportunity, “I look forward to ensuring this theatre is a place where our community sees itself reflected, feels heard, and discovers impactful new perspectives,” he said. “The powerfully communal experience of live performance can bring us closer together, as a local community, and as a people. Working alongside the entire Zephyr team, I cannot wait to get started.”
