May 2018. Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member business, Intentional Wellness Counseling at their Main Street Stillwater offices on May 10. Business founder and owner Julie A. Kaufman, her family, friends, supporters and Chamber Ambassadors attended the event.

Established in 2016, Intentional Wellness Counseling offers a unique holistic psychotherapy practice. Working with older adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficult emotions, struggles, and transitions, Holistic Therapist Julie Kaufman utilizes traditional talk therapy techniques along with less traditional mind-body-spirit practices such as yoga, dance and movement, mindfulness, breath work, and meditation. Other methods that may be incorporated into the treatment include: EMDR, narrative techniques, and artistic expression.

Julie specializes in treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, shame, and self-sabotage, while also helping those struggling to navigate difficult life transitions.  The first few sessions involve an evaluation of the client’s current struggles, strengths, and needs. By the end of the evaluation, Julie discusses first impressions of what the work will include, a timeline of treatment duration, and a treatment plan.

Highly trained with a Master’s Degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School, Julie is licensed with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy and an active member of the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association, and the International Association of Individual Psychology.  She is also a certified, registered yoga instructor

Since completing her Master’s in 2016, Julie has broadened her scope of practice by completing trainings in EMDR, the Neuroscience of Resilience, CBT, Dance & Movement Therapy, and the Neurobiology of Trauma, She is passionate about helping others to wellness through a holistic, customized approach based on their unique needs and struggles.

“I love being a part of the Stillwater community!” stated Julie Kaufman.  “Helping others find wellness is my passion; being able to do so in Stillwater is just icing on the cake!”
