• Community Thread Launches New, Accessible Activities & Services Model

  • Stillwater, MN - Community Thread is excited to announce the official launch of a new, simplified Activities & Services participation model beginning. Designed to remove financial barriers and increase accessibility, the new model eliminates membership dues, monthly fees, and per-visit charges, making it easier than ever for community members to connect, engage, and thrive.

Initial enrollment for activities and services is free and requires a simple online or paper form. Once enrolled, participants gain access to most ongoing activities, including cards, Bingo, trivia, hobby groups, Book Club, discussion groups, Living Well sessions, line dancing, and more. Enrollment also includes one complimentary roundtrip ride with a volunteer driver, helping participants stay connected and active.

Some offerings, such as seasonal parties, pop-up classes, excursions, and select instructor-led or supply-based activities, may require a registration fee. To provide flexibility, Community Thread is also introducing optional add-on packages designed for participants to customize their experience with regular rides, services, or premium activities. Add-on packages are available in increments of three, five, or twelve units, with reduced rates offered for income-eligible participants. Additional services and packages will be introduced as volunteer capacity continues to grow.

"We are proud to unveil this new model informed by the voices of our community members,” said Derrick Jaeger, Executive Director. “This approach reflects our commitment to connection and engagement, and we can’t wait to welcome new faces at Community Thread.”

For more than half a century, Community Thread has been connecting people, neighborhoods, and lives to strengthen the area. Its mission is to maximize resources and engage volunteers to improve the quality of life for adults and families in our community. For more information, to enroll, or learn about volunteer opportunities, visit Community Thread’s website or call 651-439-7434.
