Why Fair Trade?

If you woke up, got dressed, had coffee with sugar, ate a banana and left for work this morning, you had the opportunity to make a global difference, even before noon. Jenn Posterick will discuss how purchasing food, clothing and other items under Fair Trade regulation can make the poor richer, human rights basic and life fair on the other side of the globe. Jenn draws on her experiences traveling with TransFair represenatives, and from her time living as an expatriate in the developing nation of Peru. The class will offer a discussion format (with photos!) to reveal the relationships and impact we can have with Fair Trade, indigenous peoples from around the world and our local buying power.
