The Gifts of Caregiving
-
Serving as a family caregiver can be a time of learning, whether you are 40 or 80. Caregiving can actually be a gift in disguise, an experience that moves you toward a more meaningful connection with yourself, as well as others. Hearing stories of family members who have taken on the care of ill, disabled, or aging loved ones can offer all of us inspiration and hope. Healing can come from looking beyond the stress and grief of the situation and knowing that others have found insights and discovered personal growth through even the worst times. Formerly on the staff of National Public Radio, Connie Goldman has been for more than twenty-five years an independent public radio producer of programs that focus exclusively on the changes and challenges of the mid-life years and beyond. Her books and articles also explore the possibilities of self-discovery and continued growth in the later years. Respite care will be available at the event. Please notify us of your need to use this service at the time of RSVP. Light refreshments will be served. The Gifts of Caregiving
