So You Think You Need Training?
-
As a member of the HR department, what happens when someone comes to you with a training request? How do you know if training is the issue? Do you/they know what the skill gaps are? If we find some training, how will we know if it worked? These and many other questions come up all too often. As a trainer, the question I most often ask is, “What do you want the participants to be able to do at the end of the training?” The follow-up then becomes “How will we know if they can do it?” This gets at the heart of the training issue with a needs assessment up front to determine the training outcomes and an evaluation at the end to see how we did. In today’s session we will explore ways that we might answer these questions and get the most out of your training dollars.About the PresenterDave Vollmer, Business and Industry Trainer/Consultant with Chippewa Valley Technical College.
