November 11, 2019. Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated Sara’s Tipsy Pies New Location and Grand Opening of the eat-in or take-out spot at a ribbon cutting celebration on October 23, 2019. The event took place at the freshly remodeled space at 823 4th Street South in Stillwater. Sarah, her family, friends, fans, staff, Chamber Ambassadors, members, and staff were there to join in the big celebration.

Sara Hayden has been growing her business for 8 years now, and has had to make a few moves into larger spaces. This last move onto the corner of 4th and Churchill Streets in Stillwater’s South Hill neighborhood means the plans to have a retail space where people can stop by and enjoy pie and coffee have become reality. “This is a big step for us because we have never had a place that people would stop in and buy a ready made pie,” Hayden said. During an emotional address to the crowd gathered for the Grand Opening, Sara thanked her husband and children for their love and support, which without, she would not have been able to devote her time to baking her pies and building her company. And, of course, thanked her mother for her  traditional pie crust recipe.

Just a year into business, Sara’s Tipsy Pies began its “Pie with a Purpose” campaign in which a portion of its proceeds from all pies made with FINNEGANS beer (Carousing Caramel Apple Pie) is donated to the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota, Jack’s Baskets and Valley Friendship Club. This cause is near and dear to Sara’s heart because Madi, the second of five children for the Hayden’s, was born with Down Syndrome. Their new location is also accessible for guests and employees with special needs, which is the next project the pie maker has taken on, employing those with special needs. Sara Hayden and Sara’s Tipsy Pies are true difference makers in the community and abroad with their vision of helping others.

Sara, her husband, Chris, and five children reside in Oak Park Heights, and are looking forward to a wonderful next part of their Pie Journey together on Churchill Street!
