"Minnesota's Waters: Enough for Future Generations?" with guest speaker Dr. Deborah Swackhamer. Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but that doesn't mean we have enough water or clean enough water for those that come after us. Our population is growing, our climate is changing, and this will also affect our water resources. Dr. Swackhamer will talk about our water resources, the challenges we face, and solutions to those challenges so that we have enough clean water for the future.
Dr. Deborah L. Swackhamer is Professor and Charles M. Denny Jr., Chair in Science, Technology, and Public Policy in the Hubert H, Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, and Co-Director of the University’s Water Resources Center. She studies the processes affecting the behavior of, and exposures to, toxic chemicals in the environment and works on policies to address these potential risks.
