Greetings everyone. All of you were fortunate (or unfortunate, depending on how you look at it) enough to be in my various email lists. As most of you may have heard, we recently lost one of our officers, Brienne Heroux, on Sept. 13 after complications from childbirth. She gave birth to her son, Leland, and never regained consciousness. Her husband, Andy, is a St. Paul Police Officer. Both are/were dedicated public servants and even better persons.
A benefit is scheduled for November 15, 2009, starting at 2:00 p.m., at O’Gara’s in St. Paul. It is being organized by St. Paul Police Federation and the Stillwater Police Department. It will be a family friendly event, with public safety displays, a rock climbing wall, booya prepared by the St. Paul Fire Dept., live music (G.B. Layton’s, amongst others), food from some of St. Paul’s finest restaurants, beverages, and a silent auction.
The benefit is being held to raise not only funds for the Heroux family, which will be burdened with substantial medical, funeral, and childcare costs, but also for H.E.L.P.P. awareness, which is the condition that caused Bri’s death.
A donation in kind would be wonderful, but if either yourselves or if you know someone who could provide something that could be auctioned off at the silent auction during the benefit would be much appreciated. In addition, tickets, which cost $20 and cover the cost of admission and food, are available from any Stillwater Police Officer and/or many St. Paul Police Officers. T-shirt’s will be available for $10.
