The body has numerous stress response mechanisms and stress can affect the body in many different ways. In fact, the same form of stress might cause one individual to get a migraine, a second person to have G.I. problems, and a third to have cardiovascular disease. This workshop will explain the Functional Medicine perspective of a Patient Centered vs. a Disease Centered approach to health. Functional Medicine views disease not as enemy we need to battle, but as a manifestation of the breakdown mechanisms that maintain control, resilience, and balance. You will learn a practical way to measure how stressors affect our physiological and homeostatic mechanisms. You will also learn a step-by-step approach to reducing the underlying inflammatory response that is associated with almost all chronic degenerative health problems. This class is taught by Dr. Daryl L. Cooper, Doctor of Chiropractic. The class fee is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
