Canadian novelist, Emily St. John Mandel, will speak at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 12, 2015. Mandel made waves last year with the release of Station Eleven, a dystopian narrative unlike any other. In a starred review, Kirkus Reviews called it “magnetic… an ambitious take on a post-apocalyptic world.” Station Eleven won science fiction’s prestigious Arthur C. Clarke Award, and was shortlisted for the 2015 National Book Award. The novel is slated to be made into a movie and miniseries by producer Scott Steindorff, a former Stillwater resident. Seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open 45 minutes in advance and books will be available for sale/signing.
