Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated local non profit Silver Sobriety on August 27th, 2025. Executive Director, Anna Hover cut the ribbon along with colleagues, members, Greater Stillwater Chamber ambassadors and staff who were gathered for the celebration.

Silver Sobriety was founded by Peter Oesterreich and Win Miller, two recovering alcoholics who saw a lack of affordable, targeted recovery services for older adults. Their vision brought to life an age-specific, non-residential recovery program that provides education, recovery services, and support tailored specifically to adults ages 50 and older.

At the core of Silver Sobriety’s approach is a Twelve Step facilitation program, where clients are immersed in proven recovery tools and a supportive community environment. Their mission is simple yet powerful: “Rebuilding lives one senior at a time.”

We are thrilled to welcome Silver Sobriety to the Chamber family. Their focus on serving older adults with compassion, dignity, and accessibility fills a much-needed gap in recovery services here in the St. Croix Valley.

Silver Sobriety invites community members, families, and partners to learn more about their unique program and the difference they are making in the lives of older adults seeking recovery.
