September 29, 2021, Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcomed local business Studio Louise Flowers to the community with a ribbon cutting celebration on September 29, 2021. The event took place at 210 Main Street S, Stillwater, MN outside of its newly renovated space. Owner Jenn Hovland and husband Peter, business neighbors and friends, Greater Stillwater Chamber Members, Ambassadors and staff were there to join in the celebration. 

What started as an e-commerce business in 2014 has grown into a brick and mortar store which also offers workshops over Hovland’s Flower Bar.  “Working with plants and flowers makes my heart sing. I love what I do and I love sharing that passion with others” exclaims Hovland. Her workshops include houseplant care, terrariums, wedding consultations, seasonal plantings/bulbs, and holiday arrangements. She also keeps an interesting array of options over and above standard floral selections. Some of these flower options are able to be dried and used later as a beautiful home decoration.

From turn-key deliveries, seasonal containers, weddings, events, and special occasions it has been a labor of love. Hovland and her husband did much of the location’s interior renovation themselves to brighten and enlarge the store.  The name Louise is a family name which has been passed down and across generations. Hovland states that “she carries her family with her” and that choosing a favorite flower is “like picking your favorite child.” Both statements speak to the care and creativity she brings to each arrangement.
