Community Thread Hosts Free Tax Filing Assistance

Community Thread is hosting the Stillwater Site of the AARP Tax Aide Program, which provides free income tax assistance to low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 50 and older.
Trained and certified AARP Tax Aide volunteers will work with taxpayers to prepare and electronically file federal and state income tax returns. Returns can be prepared only for Minnesota residents who are not required to file a state tax return in any state other than Minnesota or Wisconsin. Not all IRS forms and schedules can be prepared in this program.
Appointments can be made starting January 6, 2020 by calling 651-789-5673 between 9 am and 4 pm. Appointments will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from February 10 to April 13. All appointments will be held at Community Thread, 2300 West Orleans Street in Stillwater. Required tax-related documents are listed on the Community Thread website at www.CommunityThreadMN.org.
