October 2018. Stillwater, MN. The bus was presented outside the facility to commemorate the kick-off to this very special and long-awaited program.

This new bus-loop transportation rolls into town offering a new form of travel option for all ages.
Community Thread has partnered with DARTS, a nonprofit organization who serves seniors and their families, to bring the circulator “loop” to the Stillwater and Oak Park Heights area which started in October.
The celebration of this launch of the new Community Thread Connector Loop is a pilot project which collaborated with community organizations and sponsorships to come to fruition. The Connector Loop will make a loop each Monday from 10:00am-3:00pm, with scheduled stops at senior housing complexes, area businesses, and shopping and retail destinations. Riders of all ages and income levels are welcome on this handicap accessible, 16-person bus. Sponsors supporting this project include: Allina Health, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, City of Oak Park Heights, Lakeview Hospital, Rotary Club of Stillwater, and United Way of Washington County-East.

Community Thread’s vision continues to be a community where all people are engaged, enriched and connected. The organization leverages resources and volunteers to improve the quality of life for adults and their families in the local community. Community Thread does this by providing services aimed for older adults, particularly those who desire to age in place, as well as advocating for and supporting volunteers throughout the St. Croix Valley region. Their name symbolizes their belief that each act of service is a thread that ties people, communities and lives together. The addition of the Community Thread Connector Loop to this community and surrounding area is just another way that you can see this organization’s mission put to work in our daily lives and the offerings we have presented to us in our area.
