DESCRIPTION:Young Chefs Series: Asian Cooking with John Michael Lerma  Tuesday\, Wednesday\, Thursday\, August 10\, 11\, 12 Author\, chef\, and Food Network personality John Michael Lerma has taught a variety of cuisines to hundreds of budding chefs in The Chef's Gallery kitchen. In this series he will help your young chef learn all the basics of Chinese cooking. We will begin by covering basic cooking skills including knife skills and safety\, safe pan handling\, cleaning and preparing ingredients\, reading recipes\, and assembling dishes. Day 1we will learn to prepare noodles and wraps as we create Egg Rolls with Plum Sweet and Sour Sauce\, Lo Mein\, Cantonese Chow Mein\, Szechuan Noodle Bowl\, Fried Rice Stick Noodles with Shrimp\, and Hoisin Pork and Noodles. Day 2 will focus on stir fry methods and rice dishes as we learn to prepare Stir-Fried Pork with Sweet and Sour Sauce\, Chicken Almond Ding\, Stir-Fried Shrimp with Vegetables and Rice\, Classic Stir-Fried Rice\, and Young Jewel Fried Rice. Day 3 will draw on our new-found skills as our students work to prepare an authentic Asian feast for you to enjoy as their guest. (One guest is invited to join your chef at 12:30pm for our buffet.) Suggested for ages 12-16.
