Discussions of race and racism can be very difficult\, especially for white people who are unaccustomed or uncomfortable with these conversations.\n\n\n\nDorothy Bliss will introduce us to the frame of "belonging" as a way to structure conversations about race\, racism\, and other challenging issues in Stillwater. Using her background in public health\, Dorothy will share data and pose questions to help us identify what "belonging" means in our own community\, and to start asking what we can do to create change.\n\n\n\nOPEN to all Chamber and community businesses to attend!\n\nPlease RSVP and we will send you the LINK prior to start time.\n\n\nDorothy Bliss has over 25 years' experience in the field of public health. She recently retired from her position as a senior planner\, research analyst\, and writer in the Community Health division of the Minnesota Department of Health.\n\nDorothy was the primary author and coordinator for the 2017 Minnesota Statewide Health Assessment and the Healthy Minnesota 2022: Statewide Health Improvement Framework\, work done in collaboration with the Healthy Minnesota Partnership\, a statewide partnership of leaders from a wide range of organizations. Dorothy helped develop and co-led training sessions on using narrative to advance health equity and gives presentations on health equity to a wide range of audiences.
