DESCRIPTION:Curious Old Instrument Returns as Music Saint Croix Welcomes the "Heckelphone" Most people have never heard of a heckelphone and wouldn't know one if they saw it\, but the local classical ensemble\, Music Saint Croix\, brings the rare instrument back to the stage on March 7th as they feature it in their newest program\, "Spring into Summer."  The piece that Music Saint Croix will perform is Moulaert's Double Reed Quartet for oboe\, oboe d'amore\, English horn and heckelphone.  Other musical offerings for the evening are Mozart's Viola Quintet\, Barber's Summer Music for Woodwind Quintet\, and the ever popular Aaron Copland composition\, "Appalachian Spring."
