SUMMARY:Hometown Holiday Kick Off
DESCRIPTION:One of Stillwater's most heart-warming events will kick-off this year's Hometown for the Holidays festivities. The annual Twinkle Parade brings throngs of excited youngsters to Lowell Park to sing carols\, light the town's Christmas tree and await the arrival of Santa Claus.Children and their parents are asked to meet at the south end of Lowell Park near the Dock Caf  at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday\, Nov. 29. Costumes that twinkle\, glow\, illuminate and brighten the winter night are encouraged. The first 400 children will receive a twinkling\, shiny star for participating. Music for the Twinkle Parade will be provided by local artists\, including Lisa Benson and friends. Hot cocoa\, coffee and cookies will be offered and a community sing-along will help keep moms\, dads\, grandparents and children stay warm. The annual walking parade will travel from South Lowell Park to the gazebo along the luminary-lined levy wall. For the second year the Twinkle Parade will join the Horse and Carriage Parade sponsored by the Downtown Merchants Association. Both parades help kick-off the month-long Hometown for the Holidays celebration. Many local merchants will be featuring special events\, shows\, refreshments and Santa.   The Horse and Carriage Parade will start at Mulberry Point\, go west on Mulberry to Second Street\, south to Nelson\, east to Water Street\, and return to Mulberry Point.
