SUMMARY:Farm to Table Grower/Buyer Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The St. Croix River Valley Buy Fresh Buy Local Chapter with its sponsor Land Stewardship Project\, together with the River Market Community Co-op and the Minnesota Food Association's Big River Farms\, will conduct two workshops on Thursday\, November 12\, for farmers and local retailers.   Session one: 10 a.m. - Noon will focus on Farmers and marketing their produce to local stores and restaurants\, with presentations by Joci Tilsen\, Trista Boe and Rhys Williams.  Session two: 1:30 - 4 p.m. Learn about practical and profitable ways to source and serve local foods at the Farm to Table Grower/Buyer workshop "Growing the Business of Local Foods in the St. Croix River Valley" Alex Roberts\, executive chef and proprietor of Restaurant Alma and Brasa Premium Rotisserie in the Twin Cities\, will share his ten years of experience in sourcing top quality\, seasonal ingredients from local and regional suppliers at the workshop. A question and answer session will follow Roberts' presentation.  Producers and buyers will discuss opportunities and obstacles to growing the business of local foods in the St. Croix River Valley and strategies for developing business relationships that are efficient and profitable for both.
